Frich Insights: Does money equal happiness?

This week we got real controversial. You know all those awkward questions that you're thinking at the back of your mind but would never dare to ask? Well, we asked.

We're sure we're not the only ones that have wondered this about certain couples... But - how honest can you be with yourself? How much money would it take for you to give up on finding "the one"? Well, 21% of you would consider marrying for money. 79% of you are hopeless romantics💘

It's tough out there!!! The economy is all wonky and it feels like just breathing will bring you to personal bankruptcy. So how much are your peers willing to give up to be able to afford those penthouse apartments and Michelin star tasting menus?👀 Only 8% said that their happiness is more important than maximizing their paychecks. 25% said an absolute YES to sacrificing happiness for a high-paying job. 67% of you said that you'd do it for a short time only. Be careful though - lifestyle creep is a real thing to fear.

61% of you said that you're always honest - we salute you!! You are the true embodiment of what we believe at Frich. Salary transparency is helpful for everyone involved🥰 But..almost a third of you said that your friends have never asked about your salary. Maybe that's something you can bring up next time? Obviously, don't ambush your friends, but try to introduce the idea of supportive and transparent conversations around money. For those 11% of you that said "Yes, I felt ashamed" - we feel you🥺 If you find yourself in an uncomfortable position where you're not making enough to live comfortably, head over to our Resources tab and check out our free resources under "Pay"!
