How to use ChatGPT to find your dream job?
<div class="user-question">Hi Frich! I’ve just graduated and I’m FREAKING out about the job search process. I don’t have any offers lined up & I’m getting really stressed out. I’ve been hearing a lot from people that they use AI to make their job search easier but how can I actually do it? Can you show me how I can use AI to land a job?</div>
Hello! I bet that feels super overwhelming, and it might feel isolating. However, you are not alone. When I just graduated, I also felt lost, but knew I could lean on my network. There are several ways to tap into the power of your network and use AI to streamline the job search process, so let’s get started! ⬇️
1️⃣: Use AI to enrich your resume and LinkedIn profile with keywords
Recruiters search for keywords from the “requirements” / “qualifications” section in the job description to match them to your resume and LinkedIn. This makes this one of the most powerful places to use AI to optimize your job search process.
Instead of tailoring your resume to every role, have one master resume that contains a ton of relevant keywords. To get the best resume:
- Find 5-10 job descriptions with your target role (i.e associate product manager) using this search query on Google:

<div class="frich-tip">Frich tip: consider using the prefix “New Grad” to the front of your target role since those roles are more open to students who have less work experience.</div>
- Copy and paste the “requirements” / “qualifications” section and ask ChatGPT this:

2️⃣: Prioritize networking over applying online
Because you’re a New Grad, companies love to invest in young, hungry, scrappy talent! But sometimes, landing a role is difficult if you don’t have a ton of relevant experience.
That’s why I recommend you to prioritize networking with startup founders if you have a passion for the product they’re building.
Find startups hiring using Top Startups, and make a list of your top 50 companies. Then use this template to reach out to their founders:

Find the ICP (ideal customer profile) and relevant news article using ChatGPT (or similar) like this:

Then, follow up with a prompt that helps you define the company's ideal customer (ICP):

3️⃣: Practice behavioral interviewing daily
Half the battle of the job search is getting noticed. But if you get an opportunity, try to make the most of it by practicing common behavioral interview questions!
<div class="frich-tip">Frich tip: Here is a link to a proven bank of common questions asked during any interview across multiple industries.</div>
Use AI as a practice partner by having it select a random question and then type out your response followed by this prompt:
