Frich Reveals: How much should you spend on food?
Have you started paying more attention to grocery prices recently?
It's not just you - things are getting noticeably more expensive making most of us think twice before we purchase something, even if it's an essential. Based on what Frichies answered, 63% of you have started to pay even more attention to grocery prices in recent months. And since groceries (obvi) are a necessity, that's quite telling on how people are feeling about their salaries, living costs and lifestlye quality.
So that's why last week we decided to get a bit of a vibe check on how people are feeling & behaving, when it comes to the cost of food. Let's dive in!
Do you have a weekly grocery budget?
So... when people go shopping for groceries, do they have a budget in mind? Or do they just go by what they want / need? Based on what you answered, roughly a third has a weekly grocery budget and another third has a monthly grocery budget. And when it comes to actual amounts, here's a TikTok video we posted that got people commenting their weekly grocery budgets:
What’s your “I’m not cooking” emergency meal?
Consider this as our petition to GET PEOPLE TO STOP ORDERING IN. If you want a restaurant meal - go and sit down at the restaurant. If you're lazy to cook - have a go-to "I'm not cooking" meal. Because let's be real, ordering in is expensive, addictive and most times lowkey kinda disappointing.
So to get the creative juices flowing, read the comments section for some of people's best (and weirdest) "I'm not cooking" meal. My personal favorite? A big pile of random veggies roasted in the oven. Just roughly cut up anything you have in the fridge, put some olive oil / salt / pepper, and put in the oven for 30mins. That's it.
