Frich Reveals: Health = Wealth?
Now that we’re a month into fall and locked in on finishing the year strong, let’s talk about one of the most common goals we keep seeing online - health and wellness! Here’s the not-so-secret secret: plenty of companies are trying to cash in on your motivation. So let’s do a quick reality check on what the true cost of wellness really is (or should be).
Have you ever bought supplements without really knowing if they work?
Listen, we don't have anything against supplements. But if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Like Sarah from The Craft says "Nothing makes everything all better again" (pssst.. if you haven't seen it yet, this is a really fun Halloween movie rec!)
So make sure to always do your research before buying a magic potion that promises to solve everything. Rough estimates put marketing for supplements to be about 1.2 billion (!) in 2022. So remember that there's a lot of money being spent on trying to convince you that you need to have that new vitamin or your life is practically over.
So with that being said, how many of you have fallen for these marketing tricks? (No shaming here, we're guilty as well!) Almost 2/3 said that they've bought supplements without knowing whether they work. Now that's spooky 👻
Are free mental health tools (journaling, meditation, exercise) are just as effective as paid ones?
Do most of us need to pay for something to commit to doing it regularly? 44% would say yes - paying for a mental health tool makes them feel more accountable. The rest of you are content in your ability to reach these goals by yourselves, without the help of pricey online tools.
Is spending on skincare an investment in health?
Ready for hot takes?? So.. does spending on skincare go in the health bucket or is it a vanity expenditure? We won't reveal our stance, but here's what Frichies had to say. 39% say all skincare is an investment in health; 35% say that skincare only counts as an investment in health if it's for medical purposes; and the rest believe any spending on skincare is mostly for vanity.
