Hi, I’m Katrin - co-founder of Frich, one of the fastest-growing Gen Z money platforms in the U.S.
Whether you’re in build-mode or seriously thinking about starting something, you’ve probably already experienced how confusing entrepreneurship, and especially fundraising, can be.
There’s endless generic advice and overnight success stories in the media, but very little clarity on how someone actually gets a check written or where to find free funding opportunities.
(Spoiler: most “overnight success” media stories conveniently leave out the years of late nights, uncertainty, and hard work.)
When I started, I didn’t need more opinions. I needed real blueprints. I wanted to understand how other founders accessed investors, opportunities, and capital. What actually helped me were other entrepreneurs who generously shared their investor lists, connections and processes from when they were starting, building, and eventually selling companies.
This series is my way of paying that forward - so your path can hopefully be easier than mine was.

I left home at 14 and spent the next decade living across 20+ countries. It taught me resilience, independence, and how to figure things out on my own - but it didn’t teach me how to raise capital or build a company from scratch.
When I moved to the U.S., I had no network, no resources and no knowledge on how to actually build a business. I remember googling things like “how do you meet investors?” and “how do you build a business with no funding?”
