Frich Insights: Money & Family Pt 2

Today we're recapping Part 2 of Money & Parents because y'all loved it when we first did it. We get it. It's taboo to ask but it's just so tempting to know!! So we did it again - we asked the questions that most of you would feel too awkward to ask yourselves. Enjoy ⬇️

Btw, before we begin, we want to acknowledge that no one chooses the family they have. Thus, we're going to treat this topic as cautiously as we can. Please remember that these are averages of our user base, and in no way a comment on how families should function.

Okay, let's do it!

Next time we should follow up by asking "Will your parents pay for your wedding?" I bet the answers would skew the other way.

But here's what your peers are thinking - only 28% of Frichies think that their parents should pay for their wedding. Wonder what's the gender breakdown 👀

This one's a bit controversial.

Surely, we can guesstimate how our parents are doing financially but do we really need to know the details? And how much should we know? And at what age should parents start being transparent with us about money?

We don't have answers to all of these questions but here's what you're thinking. 77% think that parents should be honest and disclose their financial situation to their children. Maybe next time we should follow up with confirming how many of you actually know.

Talk about taboo questions...

No judgement here but here's what you said. 46% think that their parents should prioritize enjoying their retirement, 49% think that their parents should at least try to leave some inheritance behind; and 5% think that parents should prioritize leaving an inheritance.

What kind of a parent do you think you'd be?
